APPROVAL FOR TWIN TOWERS
Sales start for St Leonards project
MIRVAC says it will commence sales for the next stage of its high-rise twin tower St Leonards Square mixed-use project, following development approval from the Joint Regional Planning Panel (JRPP).
GRANTS FOR SPORTS GROUPS
LOCAL sporting groups will soon be able play at night after a $20,000 funding grant for the construction of four light towers and lighting at Bedlam Bay Oval at Gladesville. Announcing the funding, Federal Member for North Sydney, Trent Zimmerman, said the new infrastructure will allow hundreds of young people to train and play soccer and cricket at night. Meanwhile, State Member for Pittwater, Rob Stokes, has announced $17,000 in funding to support the expansion of the popular Northern Beaches Indoor Sports Centre at Warriewood. The funding will assist with the fit-out of the centre, including new scoreboards, equipment and flooring, once the current expansion project is completed.
REPAIRS TO MACCALLUM POOL
MACCALLUM Pool at Cremorne Point will undergo repairs during June. For safety reasons, North Sydney Council says sections of the decking area will need to be fenced off during construction. Council will try to keep the pool itself open for use during this period but there may be times where the pool will need to be closed for extended periods of time. 48 hours’ notice will be given of impending full closures via Council’s website and alerts at the pool.
