SALVOS URGE VIGILENCE WITH MONEY
THE Salvation Army urges Australians to reassess their finances in 2025, as 46% start the year in debt and 30% struggle to budget. Rising living costs and reliance on credit cards and buy now, pay later schemes have worsened financial pressures. The Salvos’ Moneycare service offers free financial counseling, tools, and resources to help individuals manage debt and avoid financial distress. Support is confidential and accessible online or via phone.

NEW WYONG COMMUNITY HUB FOR OLDR PEOPLE
BOLTON Clarke Home and Community support will celebrate the start of its 140th anniversary year with the official opening of a new community hub in Wyong to support local older people with aged care services on February 6.
The hub will act as a central location to help people age well at home, providing a dedicated local team for the not-for-profit’s existing home care services on the coast and offering extra support including help navigating My Aged Care and free education sessions on topics related to positive ageing.
“This year, Bolton Clarke is celebrating 140 years of caring for Australians,” Chief Operating Officer Home and Community Support Deidre McGill said.
“We started home care in Australia with a single nurse in Melbourne in 1885, and today we support 130,000 people on the coast and across Australia with connected care services including home care, specialised nursing, allied health, retirement living and residential aged care.
“With more than one in four (27 per cent) Central Coast residents aged 60 or older, our new Wyong hub will work with coast seniors and communities to help people live and age positively.”
For more information call Bolton Clarke Home and Community Support Wyong on 1300 655 444.
