ACCESS YOUR INNER POET
IF you’ve always fancied yourself as a bit of a poet, why not try your hand at entering Central Coast Library Services’ first poetry writing competition? Divisions are junior (9-12 years), youth (13-16 years) and open (17+ years), with the winners of each division receiving a $200 gift card and writing gift pack. Winning entries will be displayed on World Poetry Day, March 21, 2019. Details: centralcoast.nsw.gov.au/libraries
BUSKING IS OK FOR A FEE
WANT to try your hand at busking to pick up a few extra dollars? No problem with Central Coast Council, as long as you stick to the rules. No busking on footpaths within town centres and you must obtain a Busking Approval Card for $20, which provides coverage through the council’s public liability insurance. See the council website for details.
COUCNIL SUPPORTS GOVT INQUIRY
CENTRAL Council Council is to support a NSW Government Special Commission of Inquiry into the Mangrove Mountain and Spencer landfill and dump sites, which have long been a bone of contention for the community. Mayor Jane Smith said the Inquiry came out of the Upper House inquiry into waste.
