GOSFORD CROWN RESERVE SECURES FUNDING

MEMBER for Gosford, Liesl Tesch has announced $3,692 to target noxious weeds to maintain Crown land reserves at Mangrove Creek Recreation Reserve.
 
The NSW Government grant is being provided by Crown Lands in the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure from the Crown Reserves Improvement Fund (CRIF).
 
$3,692 has been allocated to target noxious weeds at Mangrove Creek Recreation Reserve to support native plants and animals and keep them healthy and functional for community recreation.
 
Crown reserves support community health and well-being by providing public land for recreation such as parks, ovals and walking tracks.
 
They provide land for community organisations and facilities such as public halls, showgrounds, campgrounds and racecourses, and also protect sensitive areas of environment and cultural heritage.

GIRRAKOOL BLUES GETS BACKING

THE Girrakool Blues is set to draw in locals and visitors alike after being named as one of the 66 recipients of the NSW Government’s 2024/25 Regional Event Fund.
 
Member for The Entrance, David Mehan MP said the funds would the help event organisers bring their vision to life and make a valuable contribution to the local visitor economy.
 
“I’m thrilled that the Girrakool Blues has received this funding from the NSW Government. This will help them deliver an event that The Entrance can be proud of and attract visitors to fill our hotels, restaurants and visitor attractions, which will play a key role in stimulating the local visitor economy,” he said.
 
“The Entrance has some of the best visitor experiences in the country and events like The Girrakool Blues play an important role in showcasing the diversity of our region and driving visitation, which helps sustain local businesses and create more jobs.”
