Newcastle Airport CEO, Peter Cock said: “We are expecting a busy period across Christmas, New Year and into the January holiday period, with key events such as the Australian Open in Melbourne. The extra spaces are timely. It’s important to us to provide the infrastructure needed to service our community.
“The community has asked for a number of improvements and we have an ambitious new car park open in time for holiday travel Thursday, 21 December 2016 Continuing its program of expansion and development, Newcastle Airport has opened a new car park in time for summer travel."

Further car parking will be available in time for the Commonwealth Games and Easter 2018, bringing the total precinct parking capacity to more than 2,500 spaces.
