GRANT MCBRIDE MEMORY WALK AND JOG COMING UP

THE countdown is on for the 2021 Grant McBride Virtual Memory Walk and Jog, with just five more sleeps to go.
This year, the event will be held on September 25, during Dementia Action Week, and it will be virtual again due to COVID with plenty of Coasties already signed up to take part.

Federal Member for Dobell, Emma McBride says it’s heartening to see so many people getting behind this important cause.

“I’m so grateful to everyone who has already signed up to the event,” Ms McBride said.

“This is something that’s really close to my heart. I lost my dad, Grant and my grandma Mollie to dementia so this Saturday, I’ll be walking for them.”

Ms. McBride is encouraging more people to get involved and join the race against dementia, by signing up today.

“All you have to do is register online and get active this Saturday in any way you choose, as long as you’re following COVID restrictions.

“You can walk around your local neighbourhood, do a virtual workout at home or keep active by gardening. Every bit counts.”

There are close to half a million Australians living with dementia and around 1.6 million Australians involved in their care.

This event is about raising funds and awareness for Dementia Australia, to help create a better future for all of us.

You can join the race against dementia by signing up to the 2021 Grant McBride Memory Walk and Jog here: https://www.memorywalk.com.au/event/grant-mcbride-virtual-memory-walk-jog
