NORWEST BANK SEEKS COMMUNITY SUPPORT

HILLS residents are being asked to pledge their support for the establishment of a new Bendigo Community Bank branch at Norwest.

A committee has been planning to bring the unique Community Bank model to the Hills as a way of encouraging locally-owned and operated banking that benefits the community.

Under Bendigo Bank’s Community Bank model, once the pledge campaign is complete, a community survey will be conducted and the community will raise share capital via a public share offer.

The committee has set up a Facebook page to keep supporters informed during the pledge period. See the page at the following link https://www.facebook.com/bendigobanknorwest?ref=hl

Steering Committee Chairman, John Mason, encourages people interested in finding out about how their banking business could inject funds into their community, to give him or one of the committee a call on 9894 8682 or request an info pack by emailing Norwest2153@outlook.com

“Our committee is currently looking to receive public pledges of support for our campaign from local residents, traders and business people,” Mr Mason said.

“A pledge will include an indication of who is willing to become a shareholder of the Community Bank branch and what their financial commitment would be.”
