A RE-ELECTED NSW Government will install lifts and build a multi-storey car park at Tuggerah train station, one of five on the Central Coast to get accessibility upgrades. Two levels and around 220 more parking spots will be added to the existing Tuggerah station commuter car park, increasing its capacity to approximately 350 car spaces. Lifts will also be installed at Ourimbah, Lisarow, Niagara Park and Narara train stations.

NEW USE FOR OLD TYRES

CENTRAL Coast Council is increasingly using recycled tyres in the construction and maintenance of roads across the region. Council Director Roads, Transport, Drainage and Waste, Boris Bolgoff, said Council was helping to save thousands of tonnes of tyres from ending up in landfill. “We take a crumb rubber binder made from 100 percent recycled Australian tyres and mix this with bitumen and asphalt for use in spray sealing and asphalt works across the Central Coast,” Mr Bolgoff said.
