WORK STARTS ON MEDICAL SCHOOL

$21M campus at Cambelltown

cCONSTRUCTION of the $21 million Western Sydney University Macarthur Clinical School on the Campbelltown Hospital campus has started.

It is the inaugural clinical school of the university’s School of Medicine, which was officially unveiled on the Campbelltown campus, in November 2008

The four-storey building will feature facilities including a simulation laboratory, eight clinical trial rooms and education facilities that will help young medical students and researchers flourish in their fields.

“It is such an exciting time for Campbelltown Hospital patients and staff - and now for the medical students and young clinicians of south-western Sydney,” said Minister for Health, Minister Jillian Skinner.

The school is expected to be completed by December 2016 and open in early 2017.
