EMMA McBride has been a highly successful representative for the electorate of Dobell during the past six years and now her service has been rewarded with two key Ministerial roles in the new ALP cabinet.
She is gained the roles of Labor’s new Assistant Minister for Mental Health and Suicide Prevention and Assistant Minister for Rural and Regional Health.
The appointments are a breath of fresh air for the region which has been consistently overlooked for Federal Ministerial appointments in the past.
“I can’t wait to get to work on creating a better future for us all,” Ms McBride said after being sworn in by the Governor General.
Ms McBride has been a strong advocate for Mental Health in Federal Parliament and the Health portfolios also represent her other great strength.
She has worked tirelessly to progress the Wyong Hospital where she once managed the Pharmacy department.
She won the seat in 2016 after losing at her first attempt in 2013.
Her late father Grant McBride was the State Member for The Entrance from 1992 to 2011.
