FULL STEAM AHEAD FOR GOSFORD RSL

New facility includes dedicated museum
PROGRESS is continuing at a rapid pace on the new Gosford RSL building.

The finished design is a striking building, over three levels, with a commanding street presence. The ground floor accommodates parking, the club entry, shared club and Galaxy Motel reception, cellar/loading dock, and staff facilities and administration.

As an RSL Club it was essential to maintain a focus on the traditions and values of the RSL therefore there is a dedicated museum incorporated into the foyer.

From the foyer, escalators and a grand circular staircase escort patrons to level one, the main trading floor of the club.

The gaming floor will house around 230 gaming machines, with indoor and alfresco gaming and a bar and cashier service area.

A quick service café greets patrons on the first floor with coffee and cakes as well as sandwiches, wraps, panini and salads.

The focus of the main floor is the cavernous two-story terrace filled with natural light, and abundance of plants and a range of furnishings and décor to suit a range of occasions.

Level one features different spaces designed to allow patrons to find their own space, where they feel comfortable, whether they are a family group looking for a fun space with kids play equipment, a couple looking for a quiet romantic space or a group getting together for a special occasion.

Throughout level one customers can order from any of the four dining options: Modern Australian, authentic Asian Fusion, the Argentinian grill or woodfired pizza.

All unique and authentic dining experiences that can be enjoyed separately or combined.  This level is serviced by a central main bar, featuring beers by Oak Haven Brewery – GRSL’s own brewery, which patrons can see and visit on Level 2.

Level two features the Oak Haven Brewery which was started by GRSL in 2018 with the aim of providing easy drinking, fresh beer at an excellent price for Gosford RSL Club members.

The brewery has been through expansions and will expand again when incorporated into the new building.

Oak Haven Brewery is growing in popularity and success receiving awards including two Gold Medals at the Australian International Beer Awards, the world’s largest beer competition.

The sports bar in level two features a huge 5x3m screen as well as an array of other screens to ensure patrons can enjoy any sport they want, as well as a dedicated TAB space.

A billiards & snooker room with 3 championship tables and the technological capability to live stream competitions services the active billiards & snooker club membership.

Finally on level two will be a state-of-the-art conference and events centre which will be flexible enough to host a seated dinner for 500 people, up to five smaller events or concerts and shows for over 700.

Outside, the function space is a spacious pre-function space for pre-dinner drinks, corporate break-out and conference/trade-show expansion with a view over the level 1 terrace and the Oak Haven Brewery.

Following construction of the new club, the old club will be demolished and made into carpark, with several electric vehicle charging stations near the club entry.

One of the great advantages of the masterplan is that the consolidation of the club building onto a smaller footprint, adjacent to the Central Coast Highway, opens the rest of the site for future development and/or expansion.
