OUR friend and colleague Dallas Sherringham passed away recently.
Dallas was associate editor of the CBN and Access News newspapers, including the Central Coast Sun.
A long time Coast resident, he led the team responsible for winning the coveted Best Major Suburban Newspaper in Australia Award with the Central Coast Express in the golden age of newspapers.
I was privileged to be a part of that team - a team which launched many stellar media careers. His unique news judgment led to memorable headlines including- Man Attacks Shark, UFOs Over Terrigal, Panthers at Watagans and many more.
After News Ltd took over the Central Coast Express he worked as national travel editor for News Ltd and over the years he established a reputation as being one of Australia’s leading travel writers.
His legacy lives on through his wife Sharon, five children, and grandchildren.
