The decision to proceed came after a thorough due diligence process and many positive discussions with board and management. Both parties are excited about the business and community growth opportunities.
NBC Sports Club General Manager Peter Swaby said: “The whole team is very excited about the future. As a club, we were looking to secure our longer-term success and deliver bigger plans than our financials allowed, and that is why joining with DLG presents us with so much more opportunity to grow our business, our people, and further develop community life
and spirit.
“DLG is very well credentialed in strategic development, community development, and talent development. It was just the right fit for us.”
DLG’s CEO Darren Thornton said: “We can see real synergies in all aspects of our business and enormous potential in the NBC Sports Club. They have been successful in the licensed club and lawn bowls space but want to do so much more. We are excited to help them achieve their “so much more”, and provide a positive, and lasting impact in the Northmead community.”
The amalgamation process is a lengthy process. Both clubs look forward with anticipation to creating relevant places and spaces for the members, developing the wider Northmead community and delivering the vision of the Northmead team.
