Golf day unites business for a good cause

BUSINESSES throughout Western Sydney are supporting Australian Rotary Health’s 7th Annual Challenge Cup Charity Golf Day on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Riverside Oaks Golf Club.

Teams will help to fund mental health research by competing in a four ball Ambrose event with plenty of prizes to win, including a car.

Registration is $800 for a round of golf, presentation dinner and silent auction taking place from 10am to 7.30pm.

Individuals also have the opportunity to take part in novelty events around the golf course including a Bomber Drop of 300 balls where nearest to the pin wins four future games.

Players can also win a car, supplied by Paul Wakeling Motors and sponsored by One Stop Battery Shop, by hitting a hole in one on the 4th hole.

All monies raised will go to Australian Rotary Health to support healthier minds, bodies and communities through research, awareness and education.

“This year Australian Rotary Health received 90 applications for Mental Health grants in our universities and institutions, but could only fund 14 new grants with the donations received,” Terry Davies, corporate manager said. “Through this event we are trying to turn this around.”

Improved mental health has also been linked to increased exercise where a round of golf can involve up to 4km of walking.

Corporate teams participating include (but not limited to): Henry Davis York, Cardno, Angostura (Island to Island) Tabasco (Stuart Alexander), Tegals, Hancock & Partners, Marsden Solicitors, Integra Financials, Celeste Catering, National Technical Services, Don Stein Group (One Stop Battery Shop), Seovic Engineering, Paul Wakeling Motors and Clinton Motors.

For more information ro to register a team contact Terry Davies on 8837 1900 or 0412 229 994 or email: terrydavies@australianrotaryhealth.org.au

Australian Rotary Health is one of the largest independent organisations to fund mental health research in Australia.
