$42 Million renovation

Repeal of fund

PENRITH City Council proposes to repeal the Erskine Business Park Development Contribution Plan 2008 as the facilities required to be funded by the plan have been delivered.

Aldi proposes expansion

GERMAN discount supermarket chain, ALDI, one of Australia’s fastest growing retailers, proposes a $58 million plus expansion of its head office and distribution centre atMinchinbury.

Todd wins mentor award

MICHAEL Todd, the marketing and business manager, of the Penrith Valley Business Enterprise centre, received the award for Best Business Enterprise Centre Mentor in Australia, at the recent Small Business Development Conference in Sydney.

Site on the market for $40m

A PRIVATE company connected to the Arbib family of London is looking to sell a $40 million prime industrial site at the foot of the Light Horse interchange, at Eastern Creek  The site is occupied by a government quarantine station; the lease expires in December 2015.Property sold for $3 million

Private deal

AN owner-occupier has bought a 2203-square-metre industrial property, at 16 Healey Circuit, Huntingwood, for $3 million in a private deal.

Green’s property sold

AUSTRALIAN Industrial REIT has bought the property of Green’s General Foods, in Glendenning, for $29.5 million, Green’s will lease it for an initial 15 years.

Sold for $27.5 million

An undisclosed private investor has purchased 1-11 Smeaton Grange Road, Smeaton Grange, for $27.5m. The 27,330-square-metre industrial complex has been purchased on a yield reflecting 10.8 per cent.

Proposal moving ahead

QUBE MD, Maurice James expects planning approvals for its intermodal facility, at Moorebank, to be through in the first quarter of 2014. The potential to build a joint freight hub with the federal government appeared to be making good progress.

Powersweep leases space

POWERSWEEP Pty Ltd has leased 1100 square metres of space at 1 Reaghs Farm Road, Minto. The industrial property has been leased or a 3 year term at a net rent of $67 per square metre.  

Plaza sold for $80 million

LASALLE Investment Management has paid the Makris Group $80 million for its Bonnyrigg Plaza sub-regional shopping centre. The centre built in 1986nand anchored by Woolworths and Big W stores, has approval for a $100 million extension.

Hotel wins award

THE Camden Valley Inn, at Camden Park, won the Outstanding Community service award, at the Australian Hotel Association NSW 2013 awards

Complex bought for $65m

AVIVA Investors has purchased a warehouse and logistics complex, at 52-88 Lisbon Road, Fairfield, for $65 million The 60,000-square-metre industrial complex has been purchased on a yield reflecting 9 per cent.

Bulky good centre sold

BWP Trust has finalised the purchase of Hoxton Park Central, at 2 Lyn Parade, Hoxton Park, for $40.7 million. The 23,753-square-metre bulky goods centre has been purchased fully tenanted.

Seventy submissions

AN architecture design competition for two new landmark commercial towers, of 200 metres and 220 metres, at Parramatta Square has attracted more than 70 submissions from leading architecture practices in Australia and from 17 countries.

Park Thales signs alliance

THALES Australia, headquarted in Sydney Olympic Park, and the Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) have signed a strategic alliance to collaborate on a number of research programs aimed at strengthening Defence capability.

Professor advises council

PARRAMATTA City Council has engaged Professor Edward Blakely, through the United States Study Centre, University of Sydney, as senior advisor to Lord Mayor. John Chedid and council, to include advice and mentoring on management and administration matters

Macquarie Park/ Building sold for $72 million

STOCKLAND has sold an eight-storey building opposite the Macquarie Park railway station for $72 million.

$1 million upgrade

HEALTH Minister Jillian Skinner said $1 million had been allocated for a study on the planned refurbishment of Westmead Hospital, involving clinicians, patients and the community Parramatta.

Two residential towers

KRIKIS Tayler Architects has lodged a DA for the demolition and construction of a mixed use development, at 2-6 River road West, Parramatta. The project includes two 11-storey buildings and one 12-storey building containing a total of 287 units. The estimated cost of work is $82.5 million

Rode invests $7 million

RODE Microphones, in Silverwater, has invested $7 million in expanding its factory as part of a plan to enter the booming mobile phone and medical device market.
