Forum for big business thinkers

THE second Think Business Forum, hosted by Deloitte will offer Western Sydney business leaders perspectives on how to bring big ideas to life.

Chris Richardson, from Deloitte Access Economics, will provide an economic update on South Asia’s changing implications for Sydney and how local business can potentially capitalise on these changes.

Is there a silver lining to the pain of high exchange rates and lower overseas labour costs?  Will advances in technology bring Asia closer to us and make them more of a customer than competitor?

The Forum, to be held on November 8, is aimed at business owners and senior leaders in the Greater Sydney area, will offer participants the opportunity to gain insights from some of Australia’s leading business thinkers, through a series of interactive workshop-style sessions:

• Think Big: How to generate big ideas and make them happen, with Tony Shepherd AO, Chairman, Transfield Services and inaugural Chairman of Sydney’s newest AFL Club, the Greater Western Sydney Giants.

• Think Performance: How the right culture off the field drives high performance on the field, with Lyall Gorman, Executive Chairman of the Western Sydney Wanderers FC, and former CEO of the Hyundai A-League.

• Think Leadership: Key leadership avenues to drive growth, with Giam Swiegers, CEO Deloitte Australia.

Deloitte is hosting Think Business Forum as part of its sponsorship of Parramasala for the second year running. Managing partner of Deloitte’s Western Sydney office, Peter Forrester, said Parramasala is a good fit for Deloitte:

“The festival celebrates the influence of South Asia and reflects Deloitte’s investment in cultural diversity, which we see as bringing us a competitive advantage in the war for talent. Deloitte has been in Western Sydney for over 30 years and we are committed to supporting growth in the region.

“It’s fantastic to see Parramasala build on the success of last year and we are looking forward to getting involved again.

“We’ve brought together some leading thinkers to inspire Western Sydney’s business leaders at the Think Business Forum.  Our aim with the Forum is to increase leaders’ capacity to act and provide some insights into the changing nature of doing business with the South Asian region,” Peter Forrester said.
