Business Connecting Communities Award to manager, Mitchell Gordon

CENTRAL Coast Council has awarded a Business Connecting Communities Award to the manager of Woy Woy Antiques & Collectables Mitchell Gordon.
The presentation to Mr Gurdon was made at a recent virtual ceremony..

The Business Connecting Communities Award recognises a small business that has established genuine involvement and long-term value to the life of their community.

Council periodically bestows the award to celebrate Australia Day.

Mr Gordon was honored for his work during the COVID-19 pandemic. He established Woy Woy Antiques & Collectables to assist not-for-profit organisations affected by the crises, with a percentage of profits going to a different local charity each month.

Woy Woy Youth Cottage, Brisbane Water Historical Society, Coast Shelter, Mary Mac's Place, RSPCA Central Coast, WIRES Central Coast, Westlakes Stroke Recovery Group and Rotary Brisbane Water are some of the recipients.

The store's other community-minded activities include collecting food for Coast Shelter, providing employment opportunities for people living with disability, collecting milk bottle tops and bread tags for charity, supporting Lifeline and Amnesty International via regular monthly donations.

The award comes after Mr Gordon was honored by Volunteering Central Coast and Rotary International in 2021.
