Along with new ambulance stations for Berkeley Vale and Kincumber, the new Lisarow Ambulance Station is being delivered to boost frontline emergency care on the Central Coast as part of the NSW Government’s $615.5M NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program.
NSW Ambulance identified Lisarow, Kincumber and Berkeley Vale as high priority locations following a comprehensive service planning process using best practice modelling software to map Triple Zero (000) calls. The search for potential sites in Kincumber and Berkeley Vale is continuing with detailed investigations underway.
New ambulance stations are located at places which optimise ambulance response performance and meet the emergency care needs of the local communities.
Health Infrastructure and NSW Ambulance carried out a thorough evaluation of the site in Lisarow to ensure the location best meets the needs of our emergency ambulance operations and paramedic staff.
The next steps for the new Lisarow Ambulance Station include design development and seeking planning approval for the new station. Construction and operational timeframes will be determined as the project progresses.
The NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program will deliver 30 additional ambulance stations and supporting infrastructure across Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle and Wollongong over the coming years, boosting frontline emergency ambulance care.
Health Infrastructure is working with NSW Ambulance and other government stakeholders to identify potential sites for the new ambulance stations. Sites are now confirmed for North Sydney, South Windsor, Oran Park, Berowra, Prestons, Moss Vale, Bargo, and now Lisarow.
Each year, NSW Ambulance receives more than 1.1 million Triple Zero (000) calls for assistance and our ambulance vehicles travel more than 46 million kilometres to keep the community safe.
NSW Ambulance provides high quality clinical care, compassion, relief of pain and suffering and rescue and retrieval services to the more than 8.1 million people of NSW.
Minister for the Central Coast, David Harris said: “Our paramedics will have three new purpose-built stations to help them deliver emergency care to members of our community when and where it’s needed.
“The new ambulance station at Lisarow will optimise emergency care for the Central Coast community and will support existing ambulance stations at Point Clare, Bateau Bay and Wyong.”
