Regional hubs drive Quest’s NSW expansion

SERVICED apartment accommodation provider, Quest used the opening of the group’s newest NSW property at Sydney Olympic Park to announce plans to build 10 new properties across NSW by 2014.

Quest, Chairman Paul Constantinou, made the announcement alongside NSW Premier, Barry O’Farrell at Sydney Olympic Park on February 6.

The new apartments will increase Quest’s NSW room supply by over 70%. Quest targets business travellers who spend an average of over four nights away from home for work.

“This investment follows the increasing need by business travellers for accommodation in the State’s regional and suburban hubs where traditional accommodation options are no longer meeting their needs,” Mr Constantinou said.

“This year, we will commence construction at five new locations - in Albury, Shellharbour, Nowra, Orange and Liverpool. We will continue this expansion, with another five properties to commence in the following year.”

Quest currently operates 21 properties in New South Wales, including properties at Campbelltown, Castle Hill, Rose Hill and now Sydney Olympic Park in Sydney’s west.

When doors open on the new properties, Quest will offer a total of 2,365 rooms across NSW, hosting more than 200 thousand extended stay business travellers.

Premier Barry O’Farrell said the Government’s investment in infrastructure outside of Sydney’s CBD has led to a growing need for accommodation and services to cater for this increase in business development.

“Quest is building properties in areas where there has been significant investment in public and private infrastructure such as roads and rail, hospitals, educational institutions and retail Precincts,” he said.
