New hope for region with Ayres, says group

THE appointment of Stuart Ayres (pictured), Member for Penrith, as the parliamentary secretary for Western Sydney, has brought new hope for the residents of Western Sydney, according to a prominent Penrith lobby group.

“Residents have for many years asked for a greater share of public resources to fund massive infrastructure back logs and provide the much needed services to keep up with a burgeoning population in the region,” said Paul Brennan, chairman of the Penrith Business Alliance (PBA).

“Penrith has been very well served through Stuart’s advocacy in the NSW Parliament and his leadership and experience will undoubtedly give Western Sydney residents the same level of political exposure we need.”

Mr Ayers has replaced Hawkesbury MP. Ray Williams.

The PBA has congratulated the Sydney International Regatta Centre (SIRC), based in Penrith, which has been awarded the Premier’s Partnership Award.

The award recognises outstanding partnerships between public sector teams and business, non-government and/or academic/training organisations delivering results against at least one goal in NSW 2021.
