The Chamber’s AGM, held on November 30 heralded significant changes in the Board. Then at the first meeting on December 12, the new Board elected their representatives to lead the Chamber for the coming year.
As a well-known local leader across business Mr Rod Dever was elected unopposed as the incoming President of the Chamber with the challenge of leading this prestigious group into the future.
Mr Dever is no stranger to the function of a Chamber having previously held the role of President of (the former) Gosford Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. for four years until 2013.
He has local knowledge and firsthand experience in business matters. Mr Dever was then later elected as the President of the NSW Business Chamber Central Coast’s Regional Advisory Council which he stepped out of in October this year after a four year term in the role.
“As a Board we are excited about the changes to the local area with so many new development projects now visible. These are not just in planning stages but we are seeking the cranes and the results. This in turn is also delivering so many new and expanded business opportunities for the area. “Mr Dever said.
“Everyone at the GEC Chamber would like to thank former President Alison Vidler and her team for their outstanding work over the past 4 years. They have supported the development of the Chamber and its footprint with the inclusion of Erina and Coastal areas. We now have a solid blueprint to engage, support and grow with a variety of business operations for the future” said Rod.
Other key executive roles filled at the Chamber include the appointment of two Vice Presidents in Petrina Waddell and Leisa Wood and the incoming Treasurer, David Evers.
